Multi-talented American artist Lana Del Rey released a brand-new album titled Norman Fucking Rockwell! yesterday. To promote her last project, Del Rey has also dropped a music video for “Doin’ Time”, one of the songs contained in the album.
The new visuals follow Lana’s previous double-video for two of her new tracks, titled “Fuck It I Love You” and “The Greatest”. The music video has been very acclaimed and now, Lana has decided to share a new surprise video for her fans.
Directed by Rich Lee, the new clip shows a gigantic Lana Del Rey walking across L.A. while singing the lyrics of her single “Doin’ Time”. Images of a titanic Lana are combined with a blonde one who goes to watch a film with her boyfriend to a drive-in. The blonde Lana is waiting for her boyfriend to come back from buying some food and finds out he is cheating on her with another girl.
The vintage car and the image of a huge Lana are a rendition to Nathan Hertz’s Attack of the 50 Foot Woman, a shocking cult classic film from 1958.
The mind-blowing video also includes an enormous Lana dancing ballet on the beach accompanied by an extended instrumental interlude right before she walks out of the theater screen, terrifying the audience, to punish the cheating boyfriend.
