Following the release of Lauv’s first new songs of 2020, the music video for “Changes” has been dropped.
“Changes” is an achingly personal song, all about working through trauma, finding peace, and moving on, no matter how difficult that may be. The video is simple, splashed with muted, pastel colours and consistently rotating camera shots. Lauv is depicted on a stationary exercise bike outside a rural house, giving the sense of being in the middle of nowhere and struggling to leave or progress, but persevering anyway.
This new single comes just before the release of Lauv’s debut album ~how i’m feeling~ which will be available to stream from March 6, 2020. The album will feature a substantial 21 songs, making up for the fact that this will be Lauv’s very first album release, despite being on the scene for more than 5 years.
Lauv first made an impression with his single “The Other” in 2015 which went viral and hit Spotify’s Global Top 100. He followed up this initial success with “I Like Me Better” in 2017, which reached number 7 in the Top 40 and went platinum in 12 countries as well as 3x Multi-Platinum in the US.
Lauv has written for some of the biggest stars in the world, opened for Ed Sheeran, collaborated with the likes of Troye Sivan, and sold out shows in 21 countries as a headliner. Having achieved all this without an album to his name, fans are no doubt highly anticipating the release of ~how i’m feeling~ on March 6.
