It may be a bitter winter here in the UK, but this song is giving out seriously fresh summer vibes, and we can tell it’s going to be a big one for holiday.
The song, about love songs and how tired the singers are of them, is ironically one in itself. Although he’s stating that the songs he hears on the radio trigger memories of failed relationships, the song is ultimately one that inspires love. He even says this himself:
“Party, trying my best to meet somebody // But everybody around me is falling in love to our song.”
So while it may not be a love song for the boys, it has a potential to be for others (as long as they don’t focus too much on the lyrics!)
It’s sad, but Troye and Lauv’s heartbreak has mended our hearts with this beautifully melancholic sound. The slow, wavy vocals in the chorus make it a song to really fall in love with, or ‘in love to’.
According to Billboard, “the track is Lauv’s first since his duet with now-ex-girlfriend Julia Michaels, “There’s No Way,” which debuted in September 2018. For Sivan, it follows “Revelation,” his musical team-up with Jónsi for the film Boy Erased, in which he also appears.”
