Lena Headey To Join ‘Wind In The Willows’ Movie ‘Banking On Mr. Toad’ | Film News
With the end of Game of Thrones fast approaching, reigning Queen Lena Headey is on the prowl for her next big project. Banking On Mr. Toad, a live-action and CGI movie about the live of Wind in the Willows author Kenneth Grahame, is the first to have taken her eye.
Banking on Mr. Toad – to be directed by Luis Mandoki, written by Timothy Haas – follows Grahame, his wife Elsie, and their young son Alastair, “who struggled with health problems, many of which could not be properly treated at the time. The family’s troubles are eased by the Wind in the Willows and its success.”
Headey is attached to play Grahame’s wife, opposite Toby Kebbell (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) in the lead. Brian Blessed (Star Wars Episode I) is also attached to play Grahame’s friend, Frederick James Furnivall.
The film, which has been years in the making, will finally enter production next spring.
