Lido’s latest LP Miss Colombia was released in April 2020. It is now nominated for Best Latin Rock or Alternative Album at the 2021 Grammy Awards where the singer is due to perform on March 14.
The album was named after Steve Harvey‘s confusion at the 2015 Miss Universe Ceremony and includes 11 beautiful songs in Spanish. One of them entitled “Coming Thru” is reborn again in the form of a music video.
The visuals are done in a collaboration with Orly Anan and its their third work together. According to the singer, the process happened in the safest way during the pandemic in Mexico City.
The video is filled with bold colours, authentic decorations and make up, strikingly beautiful costumes, unique choreography and even a table with abundance of colorful dishes on it.
Lido commented the release: “the creatures next to me are acting as my conscience but most importantly, my sense of power, surrounded by the abundance of colorful fruits and foods that are to be shared ONLY by the ones who want to protect us”.
“Coming Thru” is about overcoming one’s fears and doubts. The singer adds, “The song is about surviving, deciding when to share and when to stop sharing, and understanding when one is being used. The characters could be your own conscience, anxieties, or fears“.
We highly recommend you to watch the music video as it serves as a great tribute the Colombian traditional culture combined with modern vision!
