Lizzo is launching Yitty, a brand of underwear and shapewear inspired by body positivity and size inclusion. The brand has been in the works for three years and is being launched in partnership with Kate Hudson‘s Fabletics Inc, the parent company of Fabletics.
The idea came about when Lizzo had a negative experience in a clothing shop. Wanting to buy shapewear, she was disillusioned by the lack of options. This prompted her to start her own project, but until Fabletics, no one understood her ambitions beyond simple capsule or collaborative collections.
Many different fabrics and cuts are offered, as well as a variety of colours and prints. There are three categories to start with – Nearly Naked, Mesh Me, and Major Label. All accompanied by approximately 100 individual pieces. Sizes range from XS to 6X and bras start at $49.95 and leggings at $69.95.
“[Yitty] will give everyone the opportunity to speak for themselves when it comes to how their body should look and how they should feel in their body“, says Lizzo.
She adds that, “I’m selling that more than I’m selling bodysuits or I’m selling shapewear. I’m selling a mentality that ‘I can do what I want with my body, wear what I want and feel good while doing it’“.
The line will be sold on the Fabletics website and in 76 Fabletics shops in addition to its own website. Be on time!
