A new trailer released by the BBC delivers a peak at the Company’s schedule of Drama programming over winter. Certain shows like Sherlock and Luther are making a comeback after the lead cast of those shows were busy making big-budget movies, the rest are either continuing or brand new series for the broadcaster.

Here’s the clip:

A list of the programs appearing in the trailer:

  • Luther
  • Sherlock
  • The Night Manager
  • Doctor Who
  • Happy Valley
  • Call the Midwife
  • Peaky Blinders
  • War and Peace
  • The Fall
  • Close to the Enemy
  • Hollow Crown
  • Death in Paradise
  • Line of Duty
  • And Then There Were None
  • Silent Witness
  • Dickensian
  • Undercover
  • Eastenders
  •

Controller of BBC drama commissioning, Polly Hill had this to say, “We want to celebrate the BBC’s uncompromising commitment to the highest quality original drama. This gives you a sneak peak at just some of the incredible drama coming up, and shows our ambition to continually move drama forward while also celebrating our much loved returning brands. I hope you enjoy it“.

There’s a lot of TV to look out for in this clip, lots of familiar faces in the acting realm that peak my interest, none more so than Luther and Sherlock. The two shows I’ve actually bothered to watch for the past couple of years, from amazing performances, writing, to production design that’s finally becoming comparable to american programming on AMC and HBO channels. Took long enough, perhaps we’ll actually have something good to watch on iPlayer for once.
