Macclesfield Rock Band Queen Cult Arrive With New Single ‘Woman That I Know’

Introducing Macclesfield femme-queer fronted rock band Queen Cult with their brand new single “Woman That I Know” and accompanying EP of the same name.

The four-piece band is led by vocalist and guitarist Maisie Johnson and bassist Leila Jacklin, with Brodie Carson on drums and Piers Jarvis on rhythm guitar. Their broad references include bands like No Doubt, Paramore, Royal Blood and Nothing But Thieves.

Their new single “Woman That I Know” and new EP come on the back of their latest singles that were released in the latter parts of 2021, “Show & Tell” and “A Song About Consent”, which was made record of the week by BBC Introducing Stoke, as well as their recent Revive Live tour last month with Music Venues Trust.

Speaking about the single and EP, Queen Cult frontwoman Maisie Johnson says, “This EP is the heart of all the obstacles faced, and all the self love found throughout the last couple of years.

You could say this pandemic has forced us to see our reality from all aspects within the confined walls of our flat. The government, self reflection and to trust our own opinions and views of the world. Transformative. We feel this was a rebirth of Queen Cult“.
