Machine Gun Kelly & Lukas Haas Join ‘Midnight In The Switchgrass’ Cast | Film News

Serial killer thriller Midnight In The Switchgrass has added two interesting names to its cast. Musician Machine Gun Kelly and longtime indie darling Lukas Haas have joined the cast, which already has Megan Fox, Emile Hirsch, Bruce Willis and Sistine Stallone on board.

Longtime producer Randall Emmett is making his directorial debut with the project. The story revolves around a string of unsolved murders. A local Florida detective teams up with a resilient FBI agent to find the man responsible and stop him before he claims another victim. It’s unclear what roles Kelly and Haas are playing, but Hirsh and Fox are playing the detective and FBI agent, respectively.

Production began in Puerto Rico last week, and thus far, hasn’t been delayed due to the coronavirus. We’ll wait and see if that remains the case as film production stalls worldwide.

Emmett is a longtime producer with over 100 credits to his name and some big films too, including The Irishman, End Of Watch and Lone Survivor. It will be interesting to see whether he can develop that producing experience into directorial talent. He’s got a solid cast with a – at least on the face of it – pretty generic plot. Let’s hope there’s a few twists to the film when people actually see it.

If Machine Gun Kelly‘s casting seems strange, it’s actually not as surprising as it may have been a few years ago. He’s started to develop a career as an actor, having roles in Sundance favourite Big Time Adolescence and being cast alongside Sam Worthington in The Last Son Of Isaac LeMay, which was due to begin production soon. We’ll see if that holds.
