Manny Pacquiao Documentary ‘Manny’ To Debut In March | Film Trailer
The film trailer for the forthcoming documentary about boxing legend Manny Pacquiao’s has been released. The film depicts the struggle of Manny Pacquiao as a young boy who grew up in difficult circumstances living in poverty in the Phillipines. He started fighting so that he could provide food for his family. It started out as survival tactic and developed into a profession.
Directed by Ryan Moore and Leon Gast, this documentary shows his journey from a teenager, to a boxing ring champion, to a congressman. Pacquiao is present in the documentary, often providing voice clips on his journey. In the short trailer, Pacquiao says: “My entire life I struggled to survive, boxing was my only hope“. Oscar Award-nominated actor Liam Neeson (Taken) acts as the narrator for the film, with celebrities such as Mark Wahlberg and Pacquiao’s trainer speaking about the boxer in depth.
The film will be premiered at the SXSW Film Festival in Austin from March 7 to March 15, and opens in theaters on March 12 in the Philippines.
