Mark Romanek Set To Direct ‘The Shining’ Prequel | Film News
Mark Romanek is set to direct the prequel film to The Shining. The classic film is about a family who heads to a hotel for the winter, where an evil spirit coerces the father into committing violent acts. His son who is psychic is able to see the past and the future. The proposed prequel film will look at the origins of the classic horror film which starred legendary actor Jack Nicholson. Stanley Kubrick directed the 1980 film based on the novel by Stephen King. Warner Bros are behind the new film project. The prequel will be called Overlook Hotel and is based on the original prologue in King’s novel.
