Things are finally taking shape for Marvel’s Iron Fist. They have there leading man in Game of Thrones‘ Finn Jones, Jessica Henwick and David Wenham have joined him, and now two more names can be added to the cast list: Jessica Stroup and Tom Pelphrey.
Playing the Meachum siblings, Joy and Ward, Stroup and Pelphrey complete the starring lineup for Scott Buck‘s gritty martial-arts-inspired superhero series.
Together the siblings run Rand Enterprises, a company they have built from nothing to become a global powerhouse. However, when a super-powered, Kung-Fu-power-fisted Danny Rand returns to reclaim his birthright, it spells disaster for the duo; because what would a superhero be without a business conglomerate to call his own?
Although we know very little about the official synopsis of the series, the background of young Rand goes like this: after his parents die in an expedition in China, Danny is taken in by the mystic people of K’un-Lun, where he learns his Kung-Fu and the power of the Iron Fist. After years of being presumed missing, Rand returns to New York to fight its criminal underworld; what else?
However, when one considers that papa Meachum, Harold (David Wenham), was the one who caused the death of Rand’s parents, it isn’t beyond belief that he will return to New York with vengeance in his heart. It is unknown when Marvel’s Iron Fist will hit Netflix, but another of their projects, Luke Cage, is due to arrive in September.
