Riding high off the back of an impressive appearance at Field Day festival – Sharing the stage with the legend that is Erykah Badu – Multi-instrumentalist and the innovator of all things silky smooth Masego gives us some brand new music to stick our teeth into. If you thought “Tadow” or “Navajo” were great singles, get ready for the slickness of “Lady Lady“.
Masego is really pushing the boundaries of what Jazz should sound like. The talented saxophone player combines his renowned sax imprint over groovy and incredibly sensual melodies, blissful vocals and head-bop percussion (That’s the Hip-Hop in him). The sweetest serenade, his genuine love for women is undeniable, if his previous tracks didn’t illustrate that clearly for you, now you know.
“Women guide my every move. Not even a game. From me learning to play instruments, to the songs i write, to where I want to travel. There’s a woman attached to it.”
Masego joins Leon Bridges on his North American tour so look out for that but judging by how much he loves the UK, it surely won’t be long before he’s back for another show
