Maya Hawke, Charlie Plummer and Andrea Riseborough have all joined the cast of the romantic drama, Please Baby Please. Amanda Kramer is directing the film which she co-wrote with Noel David Taylor.
The story revolves around newlyweds who witness a murder in “the gritty streets of a surreal 1950s Manhattan” and soon become the dangerous obsession of a gang. This excitement awakens a sleeping quandary into the couple’s own sexual identity.
The project reunites Hawke and Kramer, who previously collaborated on the director’s previous film, Ladyworld. Hawke has had a good year, breaking out in season 3 of Stranger Things before having a role in Quentin Tarantino‘s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.
Plummer is probably best known for starring in Andrew Haigh‘s excellent 2017 drama Lean On Pete. Riseborough has been seen in Nocturnal Animals and Birdman, and will star in the upcoming reboot of The Grudge and the Amazon true crime drug series ZeroZeroZero alongside Dane DeHaan.
Principal photography on Please Baby Please will begin in February.
