Michael B. Jordan’s Outlier Society & Christopher McQuarrie Teaming To Produce Action Thriller ‘Iron Curtain’

Hot on the heels of the massive success of Creed III, Michael B. Jordan‘s Outlier Society is developing its next big project. The production company will team with Mission: Impossible head honcho Christopher McQuarrie to produce and develop Iron Curtain, an action thriller in development at Amazon Studios.

Plot details are being kept under wraps, but McQuarrie and Emmy winner Erik Jendresen (Band of Brothers) will reportedly handle rewrites on McQuarrie’s own original screenplay. Jordan and Elizabeth Raposo will produce for Outlier Society, which has had a first-look film deal and overall TV deal with Amazon since 2021.

According to Deadline, McQuarrie penned the script for Iron Curtain way back in 2003 and initially set up the project with Intermedia, but rights issues meant they transferred to Resurgence Media Group, where they remained for years.

Raposo has had a long history with McQuarrie thanks to her 15 years at Paramount Pictures, building up to the role of President of Production. When she joined Jordan at Outlier in 2021 to oversee production and development alongside him as president, she thought back to that McQuarrie script, sensing it might be a fit for the company. And here we are.

Jordan and McQuarrie teaming up, even if it’s not as a actor-director combo, should be worth celebrating – but fingers crossed that this collaboration leads to something even more substantial.

Jordan’s been a success both in front and behind the camera thanks to Outlier, which are currently developing projects based on comic book heroes Val-Zod and a Black version of Superman, as well as many Creed-related projects for Amazon.

Jordan will also star in the feature adaptation of short story The Dwelling, and Wrong Answer, a film based on the Atlanta Public Schools cheating scandal.

McQuarrie has Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One due this July, while Part Two will continue filming for the rest of the year before arriving next summer.
