Netflix Drops First Trailer For Coming-Of-Age Series ‘I Am Not Okay With This’ | TV Trailer

Netflix has released the first trailer for their latest series, I Am Not Okay With This. The show is an adaptation of Charles Forsman‘s 2017 graphic novel of the same name, and stems from director/executive producer Jonathan Entwistle and the producers of Stranger Things.

That last point is no surprise when you watch the trailer. This is very Stranger Things, which isn’t a surprise considering that is one of Netflix’s most popular shows. It feels like a blend of that show, 2017’s IT – in both setting and due to starring Sophia Lillis and Wyatt Oleff in similar roles to the ones they played there – and maybe Riverdale and Carrie.

The series revolves around Sydney, a jaded teen navigating changing dynamics with her friends, Stanley and Dina, along with the hormone-ridden hallways of high school. While harbouring a crush on Stanley, trying to stay close to Dina even though she hates her boyfriend, and trying to handle the weirdness of small town life, she discovers she may have a superpower.

The trailer only gives us a glimpse at what Sydney can potentially do with her newfound abilities, but the show itself looks pretty solid and should be a hit if Netflix can indeed tap into the well of Stranger Things fans they are no doubt hoping take a look at this show. The series debuts on Netflix next week; Wednesday, February 26.
