Netflix has overtaken HBO in amount of customer subscriptions[/caption]
Subscriptions revenue for Netflix has overtaken that of TV channel HBO, it has been announced. The website allows customers to watch their favourite movies and TV shows for a subscription fee. The CEO of Netflix Reed Hastings said of the news, “they still kick our ass in profit and Emmys, but we are making progress. HBO rocks, and we are honoured to be in the same league“, calling the news a minor milestone. HBO recently posted its revenue at $1.141 billion, with Netflix confirming their revenue is slightly higher. The website boasts shows such as Orange is the New Black and House Of Cards, while their competitors HBO are receiving critical acclaim from numerous shows such as Game of Thrones.
