The highly followed series Bridgerton has been renewed for a third and fourth season! Even though the second season is still filming in London, it has been affirmed by the streaming platform, Netflix, that the series should have a suite to the story.
It will still be based on Julia Quinn‘s novel to follow the coming season, but the premise for season 3 and 4 are still quite blurry and we do not have confirmation from Netflix of the show producers if it is going to be focused on one character or a totally different story.
We can only assume that love and forbidden relationships between the different families may continue to be explored, or perhaps the introduction of new characters or the return of others… We will have to wait and see and follow the news to get more information.
As Bela Bajaria, Netflix’s Vice President of TV Global explained: “The creative team, led by Shonda, knew the material and delivered a beautiful, emotional, romantic drama for our members. They have some exciting plans for the future, and we think audiences will continue to swoon for this show“.
The second season is still in production, with a big focus on one of the main characters Anthony Birdgerton played by Jonathan Bailey and his love quest. After a huge hit for season 1, the series should be expecting the same if the premise is as good as the first season.
While we wait for Bridgerton season 2 to arrive, we can certainly catch up on or rewatch season 1 on Netflix and we will keep you posted on news about the following seasons as they are announced.
