New Trailer Released For ‘Alice Through The Looking Glass’ | Film News

Alice Through the Looking Glass

We were first allowed a peep at Alice Through the Looking Glass when a TV spot surfaced during the recent Superbowl 50. After seeing that Wonderland is once again in danger, we have now been given a new trailer which continues to puzzle us with questions.

Once again Alice, played by Mia Wasikowska, must return to Wonderland in a different time; a darker time. Reuniting with old crazies the Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp), the White Rabbit (Michael Sheen), Tweedledee and Tweedledum (Matt Lucas), and the punk-rock vegan pacifist White Queen (Anne Hathaway), Alice must confront Time (Sacha Baron Cohen), who has sinister plans in store for the land of the strange.

Also returning are Stephen Fry as the Cheshire Cat and Alan Rickman as Absolem, who recorded his dialogue prior to his tragic passing. Not returning however is Tim Burton, director of this film’s predecessor, Alice in Wonderland. Replacing Tim Burton is James Bobin of Muppets Most Wanted fame, this being only his third directorial feature.

Alice in Wonderland is Tim Burton’s highest-grossing film to date, having earned over $1 billion (just), yet it received lukewarm reviews from critics. Hopefully Bobin will be able to deliver a film that is both commercially lucrative and fantastically mad. The trailer, which you can view below, states that Alice Through the Looking Glass is coming ‘soon’, but instead it will arrive in U.K. cinemas May 27.
