US network FOX are in discussion about making an action TV series based on the marvel comic book and film franchise X-Men, the network’s chairman Gary Newman has confirmed after months of speculation. Newman has revealed that the series is at such an early stage, they don’t have a writer as of yet, so will most likely not come on our TV screens before 2016/17 television season.
There have been previous television series of X-Men, however they were more aimed at children. This series however would be more aimed for an adult audience possibly including darker themes. While on the TV front, little detail has been revealed about the story lines or when the first series will be finished, on the film front, the newest X-Men film is well under way. Look out for announcements about X-Men: Apocalypse in weeks to come.
