New internet sensation Niko B has released a brand new single called “International baby” produced by Trey McNair, that in under two hours, reached #1 on the iTunes Hip Hop charts. The 19-year-old rapper from Milton Keynes has a ton of loyal fans and is incredibly talented.
When speaking about the single, Niko states “I wanted to make a song that you could bop around to while standing on your kitchen table, Trey McNair sent me the beat and it was PERFECT. In the lyrics, I speak about loads of things personal to me and also things that regular kids my age could relate to for example pasta king, how expensive clothes are… When I get married I’ll probably sprint down the aisle to this song”.
For the “International Baby” music video, Niko makes his dreams come true, such as riding a horse and hanging in an empty pool with his friends, at the same time, he promotes his personally designed toothbrush merch.
Niko B enjoys mixing real-life situations with absurdities from his creativity and that is what makes his videos so unique and fun to watch, as he opens the video naturally smoking a “Twix”, a stint as a lifeguard eating from a bag full of croissants and a cameo from ‘Pasta King’
With parallels to Mike Skinner, Jimothy Lacoste, and even Lily Allen, the artist has been praised by British Vogue for his “authentic lyrics, inauthentic diamonds“, while British GQ says “he’s a man after our own hearts” and also internationally from the New York Times. He has also raised in the fashion world, his own brand CROWD.
After his interview of festival-goers in 2019 with NSG went viral, he was invited to perform alongside them on their UK OT Bop tour. He also went on to support Big Heath later that year, showing his interest in giving back to society, then in summer 2020, he performed at the virtual Wireless Festival with PA Salieu and Stefflon Don. Soon he will be joining the big names at the, one and only, Reading & Leeds Festival.
The teenagers all strongly relate to Niko B because of his oddly talented creativity, which just keeps us wanting more and curious to know what is he gonna do next. His previous singles “Quick Drive”, “Whos That? What’s That”, and “Mary Berry”, the song of a lock-down summer which has 50 Million streams altogether.
