Nissi must be on top of your “Favourite List” this week, because her latest single is the softest and grooviest feel-good track we’ve heard lately. Starting with finger snapping, mellow bassline and light piano melodies, it gradually grows to a cheerful beach-party anthem.
As the Nigerian-born singer explains, the inspiration for the song came when she was in her hometown, surrounded by the people who she started her music journey with: “It was such a love-filled space, without any worries, and it put in perspective, the things that really matter, and that’s what is really at the top of my favourite list”.
Produced by Cornel Sorian and JoeBagz, this jazz-soul offering follows her music videos for “Pay Attention” and recently released “Familiar“. It’s interesting to mention that Nissi is a sister of preeminent dancehall singer Burna Boy, though this doesn’t affect the fact, that she’s impressively talented.
