Octavia Spencer, Joseph Gordon-Levitt & Lucy Liu To Star In ‘Nobody Nothing Nowhere’

Octavia Spencer, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Lucy Liu have all signed on to star in Nobody Nothing Nowhere, a high-concept comedy that once appeared on the 2018 Black List.

The film tells the story of Ruth, one of the many Non-People, human-looking beings who have been designed and trained for the sole purpose of filling in a realistic world for a bland guy named Dave, who happens to be the only person that actually exists on Earth. But tired of serving as an extra in someone else’s life, Ruth is ready to demand one of her own.

Rachel Wolther and Alex H. Fischer wrote the script and will also direct. Spencer, Gordon-Levitt and Liu will produce alongside veteran producers Josh Penn and Michael Gottwald of the Department of Motion Pictures. The Exchange is launching sales for the project at the upcoming European Film Market.

Spencer called the film: “a wholly original feature film that presents a world and its characters in an entirely unique way.” She added: “It is always a priority for me […] to produce projects that entertain and bring the light, hope and promise audiences are craving. I am excited to be part of such an inventive and thoughtful project.”

Spencer was most recently seen in Apple Christmas film Spirited. Gordon-Levitt voiced Jiminy Cricket in Robert ZemeckisPinocchio last year, and will soon be seen in musical comedy-drama Flora and Son, comedy mystery Providence, and belated sequel Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley.

Liu will next be seen in Shazam! Fury of the Gods, Christmas action film Red One, and provide a voice for The Amazing World of Gumball: The Movie.

Filming for Nobody Nothing Nowhere is currently slated to begin in the summer.
