Latin artist Ozuna has been honoured not with one, but with four Guiness World Records 2020 titles for several music achievements, including ‘artist with the most videos to reach one billion views on Youtube’.
It is undeniable the fact that Reggaeton is the new international music sensation and Ozuna is one of the artists responsible for this incredible achievement. The Puerto Rican artist started composing music at the very young age of 12, demonstrating his talent and passion for music.
Back in 2015, Ozuna rose to fame with his single “La Ocasión”, which featured Anuel AA, De La Ghetto, DJ Luian and Mambo Kingz. Nowadays, he is an international Reggaeton sensation who has dropped collaborations alongside many popular artists, such as Cardi B, J Balvin, Yandel or Daddy Yankee.
According to Ralph Hannah, the Official Adjudicator of Guinness World Records, “More and more Latinos, especially Puerto Ricans are headlining the lists of world records. The passion and enthusiasm that characterizes these stars have seen them reach the top of our rankings”.
Ozuna has been recognised with the Guinness World Records title for the most Billboard Latin Music Award nominations for a single artist in a single year on February 19, artist with the most videos to reach one billion views on Youtube in February and the most Billboard Latin Music Award wins for a single artist in a single year on April 25.
And last but not least, Ozuna’s debut studio album Odisea topped Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart for 46 weeks straight, from September 16, 2017, until September 1, 2018.
The Puerto Rican singer was honoured during an official ceremony in his home country, where he received the original Guiness World Records 2020 certificates and a copy. “I feel honored to receive these [Guinness World Records] titles, which validates how hard we’ve been working for the past years,” he said during a speech at the event.
