Paolo Roversi And Rei Kawakubo Reveal New Exhibition ‘Birds’ | Fashion News

The famous Italian photographer Paolo Roversi and the Comme des Garçons designer Rei Kawakubo are showcasing their exclusive partnership with a new exhibition titled Birds to celebrate the last four decades of their collaborations.

Paolo Roversi is an Italian fashion photographer and portrait painter who has worked for the most impressive luxury brands, magazines and celebrities such as Dior, Vogue and Kate Moss.

On the other hand, Rei Kawakubo is an influential and respected personality in the fashion world. She is one of the representatives of the Anti-fashion scene of the 1980s. She designs with an intellectual approach, far from the traditional criteria of beauty, while perpetually questioning the established principles.

Both of them began working together in the 80’s and 40 years later, they are celebrated this partnership with Birds. Regarding this collaboration, Paolo said: “My collaboration with Rei Kawakubo goes back a long time and each time working with her is a new inspiring adventure. As Dallas Contemporary is bringing all arts – including fashion – closer, it seemed a good opportunity to show my work together with hers”.

Visitors of the Birds exhibit are able to find Roversi’s photographs in varying sizes, when entering the galleries. Most of the images are negatives that Roversi has taken over the years and were printed once and never shown, reproduced or used by Comme des Garçons.

The Birds exhibition is open from January 30 to August 22 at the Dallas Contemporary, check out some of the images below and find out more information about the exhibition here.
