Machine Gun Kelly and Travis Barker frequently work together, including for Kelly’s last album Tickets For My Downfall and their work with Yungblud, but their collaboration doesn’t seem to be slowing down.
This time, they have teamed up for a cover of Edwyn Collins’ 90’s hit “A Girl Like You“, as featured in the latest trailer of Paradise City, which premiers on Amazon Prime this Thursday, March 25.
This cover is darker and slower than the original Edwyn Collins track and a full version of the cover is on its way, but we don’t have a release date for now. In the meantime, you can hear it while watching the trailer of Paradise City, and perhaps we will hear it during the Amazon Prime show.
Paradise City is a spin-off of the 2017 musical American Satan and is led by a head-spinning cast that includes Andy Biersack from Black Veil Brides, Asking Alexandria’s Ben Bruce, Bella Thorne, Cameroun Boyce, Mark Boone Junior, Drea De Matteo and more.
The show will also feature Sid Wilson from Slipknot, Randy Blythe from Lamb Of God, and Kellin Quinn from Sleeping With Sirens as guests.
The creator, writer, and director of this spin-off is also the founder of Sumerian Records, Ash Avildsen. He drew almost the entire inspiration for Paradise City from his life and feelings.
According to him “there is no light without darkness, that sorrow and heartbreak can be the greatest drivers of art. It reminds us that there is always hope, that you are never alone, and that music is always there if you let it be”
