Somerset newcomer Finn Askew has unveiled his latest single “Peach”. With the dreamy song about first love, the 19 year-old artist follows up on the success of his debut EP Roses.
Finn grew up in the sleepy city Somerset in the countryside of the UK. He always had the ambition to outgrow his location and gained first attention with open mic gigs in London. Furthermore he released covers of popular songs on his instagram account.
His style is influenced by the sound of his Dad’s vinyls and iconic musicians as The Smiths, Lil Peep, Frank Ocean and Nirvana. Furthermore he intuitively practiced the guitar with an ease of natural talent.
With his unique songwriting the young artist breaks the concepts of genres continually and creates new hybrids of R&B, jazz, rap, emo and indie-rock. “Peach” showcases a new side of him with even more variety in the sound.
The track is a typical teenage love song about first love and a girl who is always on his mind. The accompanied visuals follow Finn through his daily life. Through the music video we get a good impression of Finn’s life, his personality and his heritage.
“This song has been on such a journey and has been in the bank for a while, so i’m just so gassed for it to be finally out” he says about the release. Listen to the alternative skater boy song and watch the visuals below.
