Peter Facinelli has signed on to direct his second feature film, a crime thriller titled Headhunter that will be distributed by The Exchange. The film revolves around a murder which sends three detectives on a whirlwind investigation, revealing dark secrets and turning everyone into a possible suspect.
Rich Ronat has written the script. The Exchange holds world rights, and will pitch the film to buyers at the upcoming 2021 virtual Cannes Market.
Facinelli is best known for his work as an actor, having been a regular on Nurse Jackie, Fastlane, and Supergirl, while also appearing in films such as Twilight, Can’t Hardly Wait, and Supernova.
He previously directed another crime thriller, The Vanished, which follows a couple trying to find their daughter after she disappears from a camping trip.
Brian O’Shea, one of the producers for The Exchange, said of the project: “We are very excited to be working again with Peter again, not only is he a consummate professional and pleasant to work with, but after my buyers screened The Vanished during the Berlin Market they wanted to know what he had coming out next. To me that is a very good sign that we should be working with him again”.
The Exchange has a hand in other upcoming films that include The Reunited States, a documentary which follows unsung heroes on the journey to bridge the political and racial divides in the U.S., animated film The Inventor with Daisy Ridley and Stephen Fry on board, and the Olivia Munn action film Replay.
