That the Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry is firmly involved in charity and global issues is well known, he’s actually follwoing the steps of his mother. Today he was the protagonist at the AIDS 2018 summit in Amsterdam, together with another benefactor and friend, Sir Elton John.
The two attended the global 5-day conference and showed their support to efforts to eradicate AIDS, especially insisting on the battle against the mortal virus for men.
Prince Harry attended the event in his role as co-founder of the Africa-based charity Sentebale, which helps young people living with HIV.
For the occasion, he shared the stage with Elton John who has announced his latest endeavour: a billion dollar global partnership to break the cycle of male transmition of AIDS, called MenStar Coalition.
The objective of the campaign, according to Elton John, is to focus more attention on men and their approach to the virus; “Young people are the only age group where HIV infections are rising, not falling“, said the pop star too.
The Prince and the singer, a veteran AIDS campaigner, are joining forces to promote early testing, treatment, and achievement of viral suppression, and the main hope behind all this is to eliminate the AIDS epidemic by 2030.
Honour to both representants, together for an important and great cause.
