American singer-songwriter Psychic Twin has shared a new single titled “Water Meets Land”. The intense entrancing track showcases her dark dance-pop sound and conveys a deeply personal message.
Psychic Twin is the solo project of Erin Fein, a multi-talented musician, who writes and records her tracks by herself. Acting simultaneously as the artist and producer was the inspiration behind the stage name Erin adopted. “In an ideal situation”, she explains, “there would have been two of me singing and playing the music”.
The music Psychic Twin releases can be described as dreamy alt-pop full captivating synth soundscapes and melodic looped vocals influenced by the likes of Kate Bush, Annie Lennox and Grace Jones. When it comes to the lyrical aspect of her songs, Erin draws inspiration from her own life experiences.
The artist dropped her debut album called Strange Day back in 2016. Since then, she settled in Los Angles and returned with new material earlier this month. The second full-length from Psychic Twin is currently in the works and can be expected to land in 2020.
In a press release about her new single, the singer emhpasises the personal importance of the song. “Put simply, ‘Water Meets Land’ is a song about intense struggle, but also, it is about acceptance and survival.
I want to share with anyone out there reading this that, if you are lost, you can learn to find your way again. If you’re willing to get help when you need it, you can learn to love and forgive yourself, without anyone else’s affirmation but your own”.
