US rapper Doja Cat has finally come out with a music video for her hit single titled “Streets”. The track was a real hit on TikTok with the very sensual #SilouhetteChallenge. For this music video, the singer started it in the streets as the title implies before reliving the TikTok challenge.
The video sees Doja in a window shop playing a mannequin and seducing a taxi driver, played by Kofi Siriboe, into breaking her out of that window, but after we see that she gets the taxi driver into a spider web with around her lots of other men who seem to be under her spell.
After that the web takes the man, we can see Doja who looks like a ‘human-like’ spider while she goes on scrolling on the walls of a high building. And at the end, we actually see that the visuals were all a vision from the taxi driver. The music video was directed by Christian Breslauer.
The song is on her 2019 album Hot Pink, and has reached the top 10 of Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles chart in February. Hopefully we will get more of these hits from the rapper in 2021, or another mashup with a classic, like she did for “Streets” with Paul Anka‘s 1959 song “Put Your Head On My Shoulder”.
The rapper has been quite busy with many collaborations with Ariana Grande and the R&B singer Megan Thee Stallion for “34+35”, and with Saweetie for their hit single “Best Friend”.
