The all-star collaboration that was first mentioned by Ty Dolla Sign and then previewed by Kanye West at the iHeartMedia Music Summit has been unveiled, although not by West himself. The track was uploaded to Rihanna’s website, acting as the first single from her upcoming album. A complete change in direction to their previous work, Rihanna and Kanye each sing verses over McCartney’s acoustic guitar backing, with the end result sounding something like an early Taylor Swift record.
West again proves that his wildly unpredictable style changes are still in full effect, particularly after the aggressive, electro-infused sound of Yeezus. Rihanna also uses the opportunity for re-invention, ditching the dancefloor-ready beats and placing the main focus on her vocals and delivery. Her official website just removed the original stream link, but you can download the track on iTunes here.
