Rising Australian Artist Sannia Shares New Song ‘Trigger’

On August 14, 2023, the burgeoning Australian talent, Sannia, graced the music scene with her evocative single, “Trigger”. The song resonates deeply with anyone who’s ever navigated the tumultuous waters of heartbreak.

It masterfully conveys the reluctance and agony of saying goodbye to a cherished relationship. “The recurring chorus reflects how I found it impossible to let go,” Sannia shared. She further elaborated, “I incorporated sounds of gun loading, the safety switching, and the trigger to impart the cold, calculated feel of a firearm.”.

Sannia burst into the limelight in 2018 with her debut single “Go And Get Over”. This same track clinched her victory in the Triple J Unearthed Competition, subsequently opening doors for her to share the stage with The Rubens on their acclaimed Lo La Ru Tour.

From a staggering 26,000 entries, she was also shortlisted as a finalist in Nashville’s 2020 International Songwriting Competition. Besides her solo achievements, Sannia has lent her vocal prowess in supporting roles to artists such as Tia Gostelow, Eliott, Kira Puru, Merci Mercy, and the recently spotlighted Mia Wray.

In 2021, as a testament to her promise and prowess, she was selected as one of the mere 21 awardees for the APRA Women in Music Mentorship program. Hayden Davies of Pilerats heralded her as “An artist poised for an illustrious future,” an assertion bolstered by her track “Love You Like”, which garnered acclaim on Apple’s New Music Daily & Alt Pop playlists and was featured amongst Unearthed’s Top 5 Uploads for July.

As she gears up for her highly-anticipated 2023 debut album, Sannia is joining forces with industry stalwarts Toby Dundas (Temper Trap), Andy Mak (Vera Blue), and Oscar Dawson (Holy Holy).
