Rose May Alaba, an emerging talent in the global music scene, has released the eagerly awaited music video for her single “MORE”. Combining elements of Afrobeat, amapiano, and pop, ‘MORE’ has been a playlist favorite since its release in June. The new video effectively brings the song’s themes to life, further establishing Alaba as a significant rising artist this year.

“MORE,” a lively blend of Afrohouse and pop released in March, features a summery sound and a catchy hook that has captivated audiences. Directed by Leroy Uwaifo, the music video enhances the song’s vibrant energy. It features engaging choreography, emotive close-ups, and impressive visual effects that convey the song’s narrative. The video explores themes of craving attention from a lover, depicting Alaba typing frantically at a computer and floating weightlessly, symbolizing the anxiety of waiting for a reply.

Rose May Alaba shared her excitement about the video’s creation, stating, “I love creating music videos. With “MORE,” I explored new visual techniques, including extensive VFX and CGI. The colder vibe of the video enhances the song’s lyrics, and of course, we added some choreography because the song makes you want to dance.”

Born in Vienna, Austria, to a Nigerian father and a Filipino mother, Rose May Alaba’s music is enriched by her diverse cultural background. Her unique sound blends Afro-pop beats with contemporary melodies, transcending borders. Alaba gained recognition with her theme song for the Special Olympics 2017, ‘Can You Feel It,’ showcasing her talent and dedication to meaningful causes.

Throughout her career, Alaba has collaborated with renowned producers like Chopstix, Young Jonn, Andre Vibes, and Blaise Beats, resulting in hits such as “Lemonade”, “IBADI (Waist)”, and the 2023 track “Lockdown”.
