Rising Star SVMI Drops New Single ‘P.O.P (Hold It Down)’ | Music News

Manchester rising rapper SVMI has released a new song titled “P.O.P (Hold It Down)”, the artist signed with Northern music and entertainment powerhouse NQ Records, home to Aitch and WhyJay. The tune was produced by LiTek, who has worked with Bugzy Malone and Central Cee, with the visuals directed by SVMI and longtime collaborator Archie Erskine.

The tune is a mix of sick rap lines and instrumentals, together with touches of R&B at the bassline, the chorus is very catchy, exactly how it should be and he also has singing skills and sensibility to relate to pop music as well as the mentioned above, which makes him very powerful and eclectic to take an adventure in any music genre, even though the one he chose I presume is rap.

SVMI tells us that “This song means a lot to me, I think it really does show how much I’ve improved as an artist and developed both lyrically and creatively”. The song comes after his viral hit song “Bait Lies”, which reached over 3 million plays and has led to support from BBC 1Xtra, Capital Xtra, GRM Daily, Link Up TV, Mixtape Madness and BBC Introducing.

The artist confesses that the inspiration for his latest tune comes from wanting to go on a spontaneous baecation with someone new, and I believe we can all relate strongly to that, mainly after the past year of lockdowns and travel restrictions.
