I fell in love with Rosamund Pike as psychotic, evil genius wife exemplar Amy Dunne in the 2014 crime drama Gone Girl and I’m excited to share that she’ll be showing off yet another dynamic character in the upcoming Marie Colvin movie!
The untitled biopic will follow the life of the American reporter that braved the dangers of working in conflict zones like Chechnya, Kosovo, Sierra Leone, Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka, to bring the world news.
Colvin was recognized by her distinctive eye patch, which she began to wear after losing her left eye in Sri Lanka in 2001, where she was covering the country’s civil war for the Sunday Times.
Production is scheduled to commence in the UK and Middle East in October. The film’s script came from “Marie Colvin’s Private War”, a Marie Brenner article from a 2012 edition of Vanity Fair, and has been prepared for the big screen by Arash Amel.
Matthew Heineman helms the film as director, after his Emmy and Oscar nominations for his documentary Cartel Land. Producing are Basil Iwanyk and Marissa McMahon. Erica Lee will serve as executive producer.
The biopic has yet to secure a release date, so stay tuned for further details!
