Rylan Denies He’s Replacing Olly Murs On ‘X Factor’ | TV News

There’s a rumour going round town that Big Brother hosts Emma Willis and Rylan Clark-Neal are being lined up to front the next series of The X Factor. The duo would replace existing presenters Caroline Flack and Olly Murs. While Flack has proved herself to be competent at handling the pressures of live TV, Murs seems to have struggled. A major gaffe of his was to reveal that Monica Michaels was leaving the competition before the decision had a chance to go to deadlock.

Former X Factor contestant Rylan used some of his showbiz slot on ITV’s This Morning to quash the rumours, telling hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford, “If there’s any truth in this, it’s the first I’ve heard”. But X Factor supremo Simon Cowell has a habit of getting what he wants and a track record of poaching talent from other shows – he lured Alesha Dixon away from Strictly… to take her place on the Britain’s Got Talent panel, and nicked The Voice’s Rita Ora for judging duties on this year’s X Factor.

And the judging panel itself could be getting a major shake up next year too. After helping Cowell choose his Over 25’s, One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson (a former X Factor contestant himself) seems to have made a good impression. When asked by Alan Carr on Chattyman last week whether he’ll be returning as an X Factor judge, Tomlinson didn’t deny it, instead replying coyly “We’ll see”.
