The highly anticipated video for “Dancing With A Stranger” has finally been released by Sam Smith and Normani, and it is everything we were hoping for.
The futuristic video explores the isolated Sam overlapped with images of people, as he sings “Look what you made me do // I’m with somebody new // Ooh baby baby I’m dancing with a stranger”. It’s a catchy chorus which exemplifies his loneliness in finding a new parter, whilst still thinking about his past love.
Normani enters with these lyrics:
“I wasn’t even going out tonight (Out tonight)
But, boy, I need to get you off of my mind (Off of my mind)
I know exactly what I have to do
I don’t wanna be alone tonight, alone tonight, alone tonight”
Paired with amazing dance choreography which also has a futuristic element to it, this video is definitely going to the top of the charts.
