David Robert Mitchell, the man who brought us the film It Follows, is back but you have to say, this one isn’t a horror film. Under The Silver Lake is a neo-noir thriller that looks funny yet somehow like the product of a fever dream.
Sam, played by Andrew Garfield, is a young man in his 30s. One night he discovers a woman in the swimming pool of his apartment. After one night together she’s disappeared at the next morning. Convinced that she wouldn’t leave overnight without telling him he begins the search for her leading him more and more into conspiracy theories.
The film also stars Riley Keough as the mysterious woman, Sarah. The cast is completed by Jimmi Simpson, Topher Grace, Callie Hernandez, Summer Bishil, Riki Lindhome, and Zosia Mamet. It will hit the theaters on June 22.
