HBO’s limited series Little Big Lies is getting the star treatment. Divergent star Shailene Woodley is reportedly returning to the small screen for David E. Kelley’s upcoming project. This marks her first return to the small screen since her breakout role on The Secret Life of the American Teenager. Nicole Kidman announced the news at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit in New Dehli on Sunday.
The drama series which is based on Liane Moriarty’s book of the same name, will center on “three mothers of kindergarteners whose seemingly perfect lives unravel to the point of murder”. Woodley will take on the role of single mother Jane opposite Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon.
Witherspoon and Kidman who obtained the rights to the book through their respective productions companies will serve as executive producers alongside Pacific Standard’s Bruna Papandrea and Blossom Films’ Per Saari. Moriarty will also serve as a producer. She has previously penned several best-sellers, including, What Alice Forgot, Three Wishes and The Husband’s Secret.
It will be exciting to see how all this pans out, one can only hope for incredible things with such talents involved. Woodley can be seen next in Oliver Stone’s biopic Snowden alongside Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Scott Eastwood which is currently slated for a May 12, 2016 release.
