Shalyah says about her own song:
“To me, this song embraces the process of breaking up, hurting, and moving on, but still being pulled back in their direction and influence,” and continues with. “I want my listeners to feel that pain and agony, but also know that over time the hurt will subside. We’ll always have bitter and sweet experiences in life, but those can often come with fond memories mixed with lessons well learned.”
At the age of only 15, Shalyah was a participant in the big TV show, The Voice where she stole a lot of the audiences hearts, while being on Team Adam. On this show, she ended up in the Top 8. However Shalyah began singing when she was only 5 years old, and got a scholarship to the Performing Art Center in Tampa, where she was giving a big opportunity.
It was here that Shalyah star in different productions, such as the famous animated film Shrek, The Little Princess and The Little Mermaid.
Shalyah says in order of everything that: “I want my story to inspire young people like myself to go out there and get what they want. You have to work for it. That’s what I’m doing now. I’m working for it, and I’m going to get it.”
