Sierra McCormick (American Horror Stories) and Jade Pettyjohn (Little Fires Everywhere) have signed on to star in Burnouts, a new supernatural thriller from writer-director Tim Donner.
TLK Filmworks will produce the project, and the film will also feature Brenna D’Amico, Gianni DeCenzo, Summer Parker, and Connor Hammond.
The film revolves around a group of grieving teens, hot off of quarantine, who head off for a much needed retreat to reconnect and mend their wounds. A decision to hold a seance subsequently leads to an evening where anything can and does happen.
McCormick already has horror experience after starring in impressive sci-fi horror film The Vast Of Night two years ago. She’ll next be seen in Josh Yunis‘ comedy Camp with Joey King, and Pablo Feldman and Sophia Sabella‘s upcoming drama, Sour Milk.
Pettyjohn is best known for her TV work, having a key role in the aforementioned Little Fires Everywhere, as well as featuring in David E. Kelley‘s ABC series Big Sky and HBO’s The Righteous Gemstones. She has appeared in movies such as Destroyer, Trial By Fire, Seberg, and Deadwood: The Movie.
Donner previously worked on Robert Redford‘s political thriller The Conspirator, but Burnouts will be his feature directorial debut. It is expected to begin production in Atlanta the summer.
