In case you have been unaware or living under a rock for the past few weeks, two of the biggest producers have joined forces; established DJ’s and producers Diplo and Mark Ronson have embarked on a new project – Silk City.
After churning two impressive singles already, their timely follow up has managed to be selected as Zane Lowe‘s World Record Thursday on Beats 1. Recruiting Desiigner and GoldLink, the duo have released their latest single “Loud“.
Speaking to Lowe about the new track, Diplo explained: “It was an old beat that I was working on and it was actually a hip-hop beat. I recorded Desiigner on it, like, really a scratch demo, like, almost a year ago. Then I messed with it a little bit and I sent it to Mark when we had this idea of working together and it’s actually the first idea we had together.”
Silk City should definitely be proud of what they have done and continue to do. “Loud” is a feel-good, radio ready smash. The track itself is infectious and funky, with dance and disco undertones. GoldLink’s DC charm and smooth rap flow oozes all over and contrasts with Desiigner’s punchy looped chorus. Blend all those elements and you have a track that will go off at any large venue.
