A decade later, Tom Wellington is reprising his role as Superman, but not in Smallville.
Let me explain it. CW has announced a new Arrowverse crossover titled Crisis On Infinite Earths. This crossover will unites the entirety of DC’s television history. And producer Marc Guggenheim had no doubt about Superman actor’s involvement.
“For eight years, Arrow has stood on the shoulders of Smallville. Simply put, there would be no Arrow, and no Arrowverse, without it. So when we first started talking about Crisis On Infinite Earths, our first, second and third priorities were getting Tom to reprise his iconic role as Clark Kent. To say that we’re thrilled would be a Superman-sized understatement”.
It’ll be based on the comic of the same name published in the 1980’s. And, it’ll bring together all of the current on-screen Arrowverse shows and heroes.
It includes Batwoman, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and Arrow.
The currently Superman actor in Arrow, Tyler Hoechlin, will still be around. He’s also joins by Brandon Routh. And this informations indicates that Superman will be appearing at different ages, with Wellington playing the oldest one.
And the Lucifer star is not the only one from Smallville to make a return. Indeed, Erica Durance, who played Lois Lane (Clark Kent’s lover), is on board to reprise her role.
The five-episode crossover starts with an episode of Supergirl On December 8. It continues with one episode each on Arrow, Bat Woman and The Flash and ends on Legends of Tomorrow January 14, 2020 (UK dates are unconfirmed).
