Solana is the stage name of Ogunlana Oluwabusolami Habibat, a young Nigerian afrobeats singer, songwriter, and performer. She goes in and out of several genres including afropop, afrobeats, pop, hip-hop, trap and R&B music, and she is very diverse in her musical style.
In 2019, she burst onto the scene when she released a viral cover version of Nasty C’s “SMA” and a year later, she released a record called “Far Away” featuring Nigeria’s JoeBoy.
Speaking about her start in music, Solana says, “I found my purpose here on earth, and I firmly want to give my own contribution to the world by constructing an empire where females have a voice and nothing is impossible”. Whether she’s singing, composing, or performing, she’s known for her versatility
Only one fact comes out while studying Solana’s rapidly rising recognition in the music industry: she is unquestionably a genius talent to keep an eye on.
When listening to her new track “On My Way”, the words “amazing vocals” quickly come to mind. Apart from the incredible vocals, nothing beats an afropop love tune to get you moving, plus the cameo appearance from fellow newcomer Victony really adds to the track.
