Alongside Jeff, the previous cast is set to come back to work on the upcoming sequel. Among them are Jim Carrey, who is confirmed in the role of the villainous Dr. Robotnik, James Marsden starring protagonist Tom Wachowski and Tika Sumpter as Maddie Wachowski.
Ben Schwartz is back on track to voice the titular hedgehog and earlier this February, he informed the fans: “I believe Sonic starts filming in the next few months, I’m not quite sure when, but I know it’s coming up, and I was able to read a script and it’s gonna be great!”
On top of that, Sonic The Hedgehog 2 will introduce the first time character Talis whose appearance had been hinted in the conclusion of the first movie, which was released more than a year ago!
Alongside Jeff returning to direct the sequel, Pat Casey and Josh Miller are also back to write the script for the animation movie. Neal Moritz, Tori Nakahara, Toby Ascher, Tim Miller, Hajime Satomi and Haruki Satomi are all back to produce.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is set for a release on April 8, 2022 so the countdown can officially start!
