South Korean/Australian musician Peter Lee, operating under the moniker Munan, has released a brand-new single, “Once Upon A Time,” which brilliantly blends psychedelic/surf-rock music with indie-pop elements.
Drawing comparisons to musical acts like Toro Y Moi, Mac Demarco, and Tame Impala, Munan offers a fresh and unique sound that builds upon his distinct style.
“Once Upon A Time” originated from an unexpected discovery – a bassline demo from old files on Munan’s computer. The musical idea instantly captured his attention and triggered the process of addition and refinement.
Along with drums and other instruments, Munan incorporated a narrative element to the track, turning it into a short tale of an innocent child’s journey towards maturity, a “coming-of-age” song as described by Munan himself.
This new single serves as more than just another release for Munan. It also heralds the forthcoming release of his debut EP, scheduled for September. This EP will feature “Once Upon A Time” as well as his previous single, “Mr. Taxi Driver,” and some yet-to-be-revealed tracks.
Listeners worldwide can now enjoy the single ‘Once Upon a Time,’ accessible on all major music platforms. As the music industry continues to evolve and diversify, artists like Munan continue to push the boundaries, creating genre-defying sounds that captivate audiences.
With his upcoming EP, fans can anticipate more of Munan’s innovative blend of psychedelic/surf-rock music and indie-pop elements.
