Multi-genre artist Odeal from South East London has released his new uplifting afrobeats track “More Life” most recently.
The young artist was born in Germany, raised in London and has Nigerian roots. In 2020, he already gained attention from his collaboration with established UK artist Abra Cadabra. Together they produced the emotional tune “On & On” and made it into well-known Spotify editorial playlists such as Rap UK.
Odeal also earned support by several radio stations and was featured on on Nines‘ forthcoming EP alongside Headie One. With “More Life” he marks another step in his career and delivers a contemporary afrobeat hit with a provoking message.
With a perfectly fitting flow and energetic rap parts he shows solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement. In the accompanied video Odeal shows scenes of demonstrations and protest while performing his song. Nata and 33Bound directed the impressive visuals that capture the current social climate and the protests.
“More Life” is an amalgamation of a Nigerian production, British sincerity and a Global dialogue
of Black Excellence. With the song Odeal wants to encourage London’s Black youth to broaden their horizons and points out that “there is “More Life” when you look behind your peers within the community yet he maintains a deep and resounding respect for heritage”.
