These exotic and nostalgic sounds will take you to some distant islands, far away from the renowned British weather that this promising young singer knows well.
Delilah Blower, a UK native who moved to sunny Spain when a teenager, embraces her multiple cultures in her new single “This Ain’t Love”, mixing elements of jazz and soul to talk about past love and a situation many of us have experienced in their life.
As Delilah describes: “The lyric itself is referencing how someone you’ve been with a long time or have cared about deeply has been throwing and building hurtful things constantly over time to then have the realization that it wasn’t love and all of those hurtful things have probably been growing inside of that someone and will most definitely continue to for a long, long time“.
“This Ain’t Love” is a debut single result of a life spent studying and writing music. The singer, now an R&B newcomer, started making music when she was only 14, developing her style around 18.
Delilah’s new adventure in Spain was crucial to this, as she started blending Iberian sounds into her songs, which are also inspired by Robert Glasper, Q-Tip, and many other jazz musicians.
“This Ain’t Love” is the starting point of an emerging star who will be releasing more singles this year and who has just gifted us with a song that takes inspiration from the past to inspire and shake the current and future music landscape.
