Stormzy – Vossi Bop | Music Video

King Stormzy is back! After doing the rounds with his celebrated debut album Gang Signs & Prayers, our man disappeared from the spotlight to work on other things. He partnered with Adidas on a collection, started a publishing house, set up a scholarship fund and of course, went to work on a new album.

After a long and well deserved break from music, he makes a highly-anticipated return with new single “Vossi Bop“, Inspired by Twitter account @NL_Vossi‘s viral dance.

Stormzy has always prided himself on his versatility and this new single is a definitely not a familiar one but still welcomed. The South London MC flow is gracing a melodic yet very trap-influenced production. He takes it in his stride; his confidence on a all time high and his lyrical ability and direct approach not faltering. It’s a sweet summer banger, coming in just in time.

The new single is Stormzy back with a bang and the cool new music video reminds us why we fell in love with Big Mike in the first place.

It seems like the #MERKY crew had a lot of fun making this video. Directed by Henry Scholfield, the video sees Stormzy around London, from an empty Westminster Bridge (with the Big Ben in sights), to the front of the Bank of England, taking shots at Boris Johnson. An energetic young dance troupe, a cameo from Idris Elba and drifting Toyotas make “Vossi Bop” a fun and charismatic music video.
